My Pleasant Experience with Sri Bharati Teertha Mahaswami of Sringeri Sharada Peetham… Sri Bharati Teertha Mahaswami is the 36th Jagadguru of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham, the famous mutt established for spreading the Sanatana Dharma. His birth name was Seetharama Anjaneyalu. He was born in a brahmin family in a village in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, and he was born in the year 1951 due to the blessings of Lord Shiva, and apart from his basic education, he studied Sanskrit and Vedas, from his father. During his childhood, sometimes he used to cry and would ask his mother to take him to the nearby Shiva Temple, and there he used to recite the Shiva Mantra, ‘Shamboo Shiva Shambo and Hara Hara Mahadev’.
In the year 1966, Sri Anjaneyalu met the pontiff of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji and sought his blessings. He accepted him as his disciple and keenly observed his interest in spiritual matters. Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji gave sainthood to Sri Anjaneyalu in the year 1974, and from then onwards, he was named as Sri Bharati Teertha Mahaswami.
MY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE WITH SRINGERI SRI BHARATHI TEERTHA MAHASWAMIGAL
I (R. HARISHANKAR), have met SRI SRINGERI MAHASWAMIGAL a few times, at his Sringeri Ashram, and sometimes I have viewed his puja performance also. Though I have not interacted with him directly, but, I used to observe him quietly, precisely and closely, and in fact he too! He used to smile at me and that itself is satisfactory to me, and for me, his wonderful divine smile is equivalent to a lengthy conversation, and with that wonderful smile, my several spiritual doubts have also been clarified automatically. Many describe his presence as sweet, and with his words he helped us to overcome obstacles and find clarity in our endless life journeys.
