Indian Railways will run Special Trains for Godavari Pushkarams in July 2015 according to DV Sadananda Gowda, Union Railway Minister.
During a brief interaction with media persons in Srikalahasti, after conducting ‘Rahu-Kethu’ puja and having the darshan of Vayulingeswara Swamy in last month, the minister assured to operate special trains during the Pushkarams and also to improve passenger amenities in the railway stations located nearby Godavari river. Stating that making financial allocations to the new railway line between Srikahalasthi and Nadikudi is under the consideration of railway ministry, he said that the project will be given priority in the next railway budget.
Admitting that the new state of Andhra Pradesh is facing difficulties in terms of development due to the state bifurcation, he said that the Centre will extend all possible help to the state.
Reiterating that Tirupati and Renigunta railway stations will witness more development works in the coming days, he assured the people that their appeals for more Express trains in the famous temple town of Srikalahasti will be considered soon. Earlier, the railway minister along with his family members had darshan of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala temple.
State endowment minister Manikyala Rao, who accompanied the union minister to Tirumala and Srikalahasti temples, explained the latter about the significance of Godavari Pushkarams seeking necessary support from the railway ministry.
Later, speaking to media persons, Manikyala Rao said that he also invited the railway minister for inspecting the Rajahmundry and other nearby railway stations, to take necessary arrangements for the convenience of people as large number of people are expected to take part in the Pushkarams this year.
