Saubhagya Sundari Vrat (Saubhagya Sundari Tritiya or Teej) is one of the famous festivals observed by married women. In 2013, Saubhagya Sundari Vrat date is November 20.
This vrata falls in Margashirsha Month – third day after Kartik Purnima (Margashirsha Krishna Tritiya) according to North Indian Hindi calendars. It coincides with Kartik Month Krishna Tritiya in Marathi, Telugu, Kannada and Gujarati calendars of Amavasyant Panchanga system.
Even though, Saubhagya Sundari Vrat is a festival of married women, unmarried women also can perform this vrat for good husband and great married life. It is one of the popular vratas for those who are suffering from delay in marriage due to Manglik dosha (Kuja dosha) and any other reason related to malefic planets or the adverse planetary positions.
Saubhagya Sundari Vrat is dedicated for worshipping Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Goddess Parvati is adorned with sixteen things of a married women such as bangles, mehandi, kumkum, turmeric powder, roli, supari, anklet, etc..
Shodashopachara puja is performed to the divine couple. As always in every puja, Ganesha Puja is performed before the Shiva Parvati Pujan.
