Guru Raghavendra Swamy of Mantralayam
Satguru means the ‘Real and the Universal Guru’, and this title is given to the great saints like Guru Raghavendra since he removes the darkness from the lives of his devotees and also shows the bright light on their path.
The holy title Satguru would be awarded only to an enlightened saint who dedicates their life on the spiritual path, and he is the one who has attained self-realisation.
The great Kabir Das, though he was brought up by a pious Muslim couple, but he kept faith on Hinduism also, and he was also considered as a staunch devotee of Lord Rama. According to him, Lord Rama is a wonderful god, and he adds, “Those who didn’t worship Lord Rama do not have the privilege to live in this world”. He is called as Satguru by his followers, who are scattered throughout the world. The great Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikh community, is also classified as Satguru by Sikh community people.
The three great Saints, Adishankara, Ramanuja and Madhwacharya are considered asSatgurus, since they are believed to be the messengers of the god. Likewise, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Ma Sarada Devi and Swamy Vivekananda are also considered as great Satgurus, since they have done a great spiritual revolution during their period through their nice teachings.
The great Bhagavatha, Sri Bhakta Prahalada can also be termed as a “SATGURU”, since he has attained spiritual knowledge even while staying in the womb of his mother itself. When he was a young boy, he taught lot of spirituality amongst his fellow demon students, and he spread the “VISHNU BHAKTI” amongst the children even before several millions of years ago. Likewise Deva Rishi Narada can be termed as a Satguru, since by playing his Tambura and by singing marvellous songs in praise of Lord Vishnu he has inculcated the spiritual knowledge even to the great sages, right from his birth.
At present, Sri Jaggi Vasudev is termed as Satguru, and he is fully competent for that title. Whoever asks any spiritual questions, he immediately answers it, without any second thought. He is the main person to spread the “SHIVA BHAKTI” amongst the people, especially during the Shivaratri festival day, by conducting spiritual programs on Lord Shiva at Velliangiri Hills situated in Coimbatore District.
Hence let us praise the Holy Satgurus like Narada, Prahlada and Saibaba, who are the wonderful gifts offered by the god, and let us worship them wholeheartedly, in order to shape us in a proper manner.
