Sasyadhipathi in Navanayaka Phala of a Hindu new year represents that particular year’s specific phala related to crops (results / mundane predictions).
For Durmukhi Nama Samvatsara (2016-2017), Shani (Saturn) is the Sasyadhipathi as Karka Sankranti (Sun’s transit to Cancer) falls on Saturday (16 July 2016). The Varadhipati of Karkataka Sankramana day will be referred to as the Sasyadhipathi for that year. It is to note that Shani is the Varadhipathi for Saturday.
