Saptarishi Mandalam

Saptarishi are the seven ancient divine sages who were mentioned in ancient puranas. Saptharishis would change in every Yuga. The names of the Saptarshis in the present Kali Yuga are, Kashyapa, Atri, Vasistha, Vishvamitra, Gautama, Jamadagni and Bharadwaja.

The life span of the Saptarishis is very long due to their spiritual powers, which they obtained it through meditation. These Saptarishis are the sons of Lord Brahma, and the above mentioned Saptarishis still lives in the Saptharishi Mandalam which is situated below to the Dhruva Mandalam, a divine Loka which appears similar to the Swarga Loka, where the great Vishnu devotee Sri Dhruva lives as a celestial star, and he is controlling all the planets and also the Saptarishi Mandalam through his powers.

Saptarishis are superior among other rishis, and they contain more powers than that of the divine Devas, and they would worship the three chief gods Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva in the Saptarishi Mandala. Even though Dhruva contains more powers than the Saptarishis, but he still honours them, and would worship them. All the Saptarishis are considered as great rishis, and they have got enough powers to destroy even the entire world.

At the present Kali yuga, by worshipping the Saptarishis, we can get their blessings, and our sufferings also would be reduced to a certain extent. All of the Saptarishis would appear in the form of stars, and they mostly would not be visible to our eyes. But if we keep sincere bhakti on them, then they may be visible to our eyes.Lot of wonderful stories are associated with the Saptarishis, and all these rishis have crossed several hurdles in their life, before becoming Saptarishis. Though it is not possible for us to become like Saptharishis, at least we can get some peace of mind by chanting their names regularly.
