Sant Premanand

Sant Premanand was a Gujarati saint, and a devotee of Lord Krishna. He belonged to Brahmin community and used to play drums during the puja at the Krishna Temples of Gujarat.

He also used to narrate the stories of the gods, goddesses and the great saints using his musical instruments, and he would compose nice songs on Lord Krishna, and sing in his mesmerizing voice. Sant Premanand used to perform discourses on Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavatham and Bhagavat Gita in a remarkable manner.

Premanand was born in Vadodara, Gujarat in the 17th century, and he was a multi-faceted personality. He was an expert in playing drums, musical instruments and composing poems on Lord Krishna. His poems were very simple, and easy to understand by anyone. He travelled throughout India, and spread the importance of Lord Krishna among the people, and cultivated the bhakti in their minds. He dedicated his entire life on devoting to Lord Krishna, and at the end of his life, he attained MUKTI.
