27 December 2019 is Mandala Pooja at Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple (Sannidhanam) for Sabarimala Yatra season 2019-2020. It marks the conclusion of the 41-day Mandalam season of the annual pilgrimage (Sabarimala Ayyappa Deeksha). Mandala Pooja will be held at 1 PM after adoring the Thanka Anki (gold ornaments) on the idol of Ayyappa.
Kalabhabhishekam, a special ritual associated with Mandala Pooja, slated to be held at 11.30 AM. Following the Kalabhabhishekam, the procession carrying the Kalabhakalasam would be taken to the temple by circumambulating the Sreekovil.
After the Athazha Puja and Harivarasanam, the Ayyappa temple will be closed at 10 PM on December 27, 2019.
Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple will be reopened at 5.30 PM on December 30 for the 21-day Makaravilakku season 2019-2020. Kalabhabhishekam will be conducted in the temple from January 1 to 14, 2020. The Makarasamkrama Pooja will be held at the temple at 12.58 AM on January 14, 2020.
After adorning Thiruvabharanam on the idol of Lord Ayyappa, Makaravilakku will be conducted at 6.30 PM on January 14, 2020.
The annual procession of Malikappuram Devi will be taken out from the temple from Janaury 15 to January 19, 2020. The annual Guruthi Puja is slated to be held at 11 PM on January 20, 2020.
Darshan facilities for the common devotees will be allowed till 11 PM on January 20 for the Makaravilakku season 2019-2020. Lord Ayyappa Temple will be closed at 7 AM on January 21 after the customary darshanam of the Pandalam Raja.
