Sabarimala Annual Festival (Sabarimala Ulsavam / Sabarimala Arattu Festival) is celebrated in March – April (Meenam Month of Malayalam Calendar / Panguni Masam in Tamil calendar). In 2023, the 10-day Sabarimala Annual festival begins on March 26 and ends on April 5 with auspicious Arat Ceremony (on Panguni Uthiram).
Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple would be opened in the afternoon on March 26, 2023. The Sanctum Sanctorum (Sannidhanam) will be opened at 5 PM. The ceremonial flag hoisting, Kodiyettu, marking the beginning of the annual festival, would be held in the auspicious muhurthom between 9.30 AM and 10 AM on March 27.
The auspicious Utsavabali would be performed on all days from March 27 to April 4, 2023. Palliveta will be held on April 4th evening. Arat ceremony, the grand finale of the festival, would be held at the specially prepared Arat Kadavu in River Pampa on the Panguni Uthram (April 5, 2023).
