Rasakalyani Vrata is an auspicious Vrata dedicated to Goddess Lalita Tripurasundari Devi. It is observed either on Shukla Tritiya in Vaishakh Month or Bhadrapada Month or in Margashirsha Month.
On Rasakalyani Vrata, Goddess Lalita is offered Shodashopachara Pooja with milk, white flowers, honey, Tila, rice and fruits.
Devotees offer food grains, vegetables, clothes, or money (Dakshina) to the Brahmins. Young girls are also offered new clothes at the end of this vrata.
The merit of performing Rasakalyani vrata is happiness, pleasure, prosperity and fulfillment of desires.
According to the Matsya Purana this vrata is observed for full one year – starting on Magha Shukla Tritiya. Goddess Lalita is offered Abhishekam with water mixed with Tila and honey. During the vrata, the performed needs to avoid using salt in food.
As part of Rasakalyani Vrata Udyapana (Udwasana), the performer who completes the vrata for one full year from Magha Shukla Tritiya to Magha Shukla Tritiya, needs to donate an image of Goddess Lalita made with gold and two cows to Brahmin.
