Ramana Maharshi
Sri Ramanashram, is the ashram dedicated for the great Ramana Maharshi, which was founded in the year 1922,and even after the death of Guru Ramana in the year 1950, still now lot of devotees from all over the world are visiting this holy Ashram in order to get the blessings of Guru Ramana and to get peace of mind. It is located in the Girivalam path in the holy Arunachala Mountain at Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. Nearby this Ashram, Sadguru Seshadri Swamigal’s Ashram is also located, who lived during the period of Guru Ramana, and we can visit his Ashram also.
We can see even foreign devotees in this Ashram, who used to sincerely worship Guru Ramana and also perform deep meditation on him. There are only limited number of rooms for the stay purpose of the devotees at this Ashram, and those who wish to book the rooms in advance, must contact the Manager at Ramanashram through phone, and must give prior intimation about their stay at Ramanashram. While I was visiting Ramanashram, I have found few foreigners peacefully staying at this Ashram, and I have found a satisfactory smile on their face.We can feel a divine vibration within us, after spending a few minutes at this Ashram.
We can also find few peacocks inside this Ashram who used to freely move and would raise a nice sound, in order to express their happiness. We can also offer some fruits, nuts and vegetables like carrots to the peacock, in order to gain some good karma.
This ashram was small size during its initial stages, but in course of time, the ashram was expanded. Many famous spiritual personalities like Swami Sivananda, Swami Chinmayananda and Paramahansa Yogananda have visited this place. And still now, film personalities like Ilayaraja have visited this holy Ashram, in order to seek the blessings of Guru Ramana.
In order to know more about Guru Ramana, we must have to read his life history, his teachings and the miracles performed by him to his devotees. Whenever possible, while visiting the holy Arunachala Temple, let us visit Ramanashram, in order to get the grace of the Divine Guru Ramana.
