As per Gujarati, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka calendars, Rama Ekadasi falls on Ashwayuja Krishna Paksha Ekadashi.
Rama Ekadasi Vrat Katha or the legend and the significance of this Ekadasi are mentioned in the Brahmavaivarta Purana as a conversation between Lord Krishna and Yudhistira. Lord Krishna detailed the story of a prince who attained salvation in his next life by observing Rama Ekadasi vrata.
