Popular Ganesh Pandals in Hyderabad for 2011 Ganesh Chaturthi

Among the 60,000 ganesh pandals in Hyderabad, there are very few popular ganapathi mandals. Ganapathi Navaratri utsavams starts on Vinayaka Chavithi (Ganesh Chaturthi) and ends on Anantha Chaturdashi day with Ganesh nimajjanam (immersion). Khairatabad Ganesh Utsava Samithi Ganapathi idol

Khairatabad Ganesh Utsava Samithi is celebrating 57th year of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in 2011. This is the most popular Ganesh mandal in Hyderabad and it also appears on the list of most famous Ganesh pandals in the world. Theme of Khairatabad Ganesh for this year is 53-foot ‘Garuda Vahana Vishnurupa Ganapathi’ with the replicas of Thiruvananthapuram Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple and Vemulawada Raja rajeshwara swamy temple in either side of the mammoth idol. Sri Balveer Bhakta Samaj in Hussaini Alam, Old City, is probably the oldest Ganesh Pandal in Hyderabad. It is a 106-year old Ganesh mandal with great religious harmony as Muslims organize the pujas and aarti in the morning and evening as well as receive the devotees.
