MY GURU’S (SCHOOL TEACHER) DELIGHTFUL EXPERIENCE WITH GURU RAMANA MAHARSHI..
I have studied my schooling (From seventh standard to twelve standard) at Hindu Higher Secondary School, Triplicane during 1980’s. At that time many Brahmins such as Raoji’s Iyengarji’s and Iyerji’s were served as teachers in that school. One Mr.Raoji who was served as a Tamil Teacher in that school, used to take classes for us during my Eleventh Standard.
Apart from school subjects, daily he used to spare some time for delivering lectures in spiritual topics, and one such topic lies with Guru Ramana! Yes! my honourable teacher met the great saint during his young age, and got divine blessings from him. He describes his experiences with Guru Ramana as remarkable deeply touched by his humbleness, gentleness, and by his divine intervention.
I have given his wonderful delightful and marvellous experience as follows:
“It has been my great good fortune to have had the privilege of experiencing the presence of his holiness the great Guru Ramana from my very early age. Apart from the close association of some members of my family with Guru Ramana, my own personal exposure with him started when I used to attend his Ashram at Thiruvannamalai in the year 1948-49, when I was a school student.
From the very first day, I was so inspired that I made it a point to attend him, and at that time, Guru Ramana had observed Mouna Vratham (Strict Silence in the form of meditation). He had delivered the great brightness and the radiance generated from his body can be compared with that of our ancient sages. I still recall the glorifying atmosphere when his holiness looked very fresh and cheerful, even when he didn’t utter a single word from his mouth!
But however, rarely, during one of his talks, Guru Ramana had explained cheerfully, the essentials of Hindu Dharma, the importance of the scriptures, and the supreme duty of everyone to cultivate devotion to God. He had requested everyone to lead a simple, disciplined, clean and godly life. The audience used to listen to him with deep attention by observing pin drop silence. He had such a good mastery over the subject, and such a good clarity of mind, that the message he gave went straight into the heart of devotees like us, like the message given in our ‘HOLY PURANAS’. Although, I had met Guru Ramana a number of times later, this early association had a deep impact on me and in the development of my late life”.
