Melmalayanur Arulmigu Angala Parameswari Amman Temple is a famous temple, and in that temple, Mata Parameswari gives prosperity to the devotees. Melmalayanur Angala Parameswari Amman Temple is located nearby Thiruvannamalai, and the temple is crowded with devotees, especially during Amavasai, Pournami and other auspicious festival days.
Mahasivarathri festival would be grandly celebrated at the Angala Parameswari Amman Temple in Melmalayanur and during the festival days, the urchava idol of Mata Parameswari Devi would be seated in the chariot, and devotees would have a glimpse of the holy mother.
As per the legend, once when Lord Shiva cut off one of the heads of Lord Brahma, he began to suffer from Brahma hatya dosham. Due to that, Mata Parvati turned out into Angala Parameswari, and came to the present place of temple, and helped Lord Shiva to get relieved from Brahmahadhi dosham. Since she removed the dosham of Lord Shiva, it is believed that those who suffer from severe doshams are recommended to visit this holy temple of Mata Angalamma, in order to get relieved from their doshams.
