Andal is the female Alvar, and she is also a great poet and a saint, who has dedicated her entire life towards the worship of Lord Vishnu, by considering him as his holy avatar Lord Krishna. She is believed to have been born during the 7th century AD at Srivilliputhur.
Andal was brought up by Periazhwar, who was a sincere devotee of Lord Vishnu, and he used to wear garland to Perumal every day. It is believed that one day, Andal has worn the garland before dedicating it to the God. Periazhwar, was very much upset with this incident. And then Lord Vishnu appeared on his dream, and asked him to dedicate the garland which was worn by Ma Andal.
It is also believed that Sriranganathan(Lord Vishnu) married Andal, and who later merged with the God.We can hear wonderful songs sung by the devotees of Ma Andal during mornings, in the Perumaland Krishna Temples of Tamil Nadu, especially during the Tamil month Margazhi, similar to Sri VenkateswaraSuprapadam.
In this month of Marghazhi, Oh the devotees of Lord Krishna, get up early from the bed, quickly bath, dress rich clothes, in order to have the darshan of Lord Krishna in his temples, who haskilled his enemies with his great powers. He is the lovely son of Nanda gopa and Ma Yasodha Who used to wear him nice ragrant flower garlands, who looks very pretty with his wonderful costumes, who contains lotus eyes, who contains the face of the bright sun, who is our worshipful Lord Vishnu.
Oh, my Krishna devotees of this world, please purify your soul by worshipping Lord Krishna,
and let us fall on his holy feet, he is the one who sleeps in the divine ocean of milk, who contains lot of attractive features, who always acts gently and softly towards his devotees, he is the one who would free us from our sorrows, and would relieve us from worldly bondages.
Oh my dear devotees of Krishna, let us sing songs in the praise of Him, dance and dance, and cherish his divine beauty, he is the one,Who had measured the world with his three feet,who gives happiness to us, who makes the birds to fly, makes the fish to swim, makes the bees to sip the honey, makes the cows to pour milk, makes the insects to crawl, makes the animals and the people in the earth to walk, and he activates all the living beings through his great powers, whose powers cannot be measured fully by anyone in the universe.
Oh My dear devotees of Krishna, keep worshipping our dear Lord, he act as the rain in the drought regions, he act as an umbrella to us during rainy season, he acts as the food and water to us, he makes to properly function us by dwelling in our soul,he blows the holy conch, and invokes his Chakra to the cruel ones, worship him in order to make this world happy, and please take early morning bath in month of Margazhi, in order to worship our dear Lord Krishna in his temples.
Oh my dear devotees of Krishna please keep chanting the glorious names of Lord Krishna, in order to receive great comfort from him. Lord Krishna is eagerly waiting for our call, and whenever we seek his help, he would respond to us immediately, and would come forth for rescuing us from our troubles. We can get pleasure by reciting the wonderful names of Lord Krishna, like Gopala, Govinda, Madhusudhana, Achyutha, Ananda, Adikesava, Mukunda and Amala.
Oh my dear devotees of Krishna, you can see the precious divine little child Krishna in your soul itself, provided you worship him sincerely. Based on your devotion, he would even take the form of a small boy, and would roam around your home, with his pleasing divine smile. He never cheats his sincere devotees, and he is present on all the objects in the universe. He is being praised by Lord Brahma, Indra and all other devas in order to get his blessings. Hence, utilise the purpose of your birth, by keep worshipping Lord Krishna in order to attain his holy feet.
