Hindupad wishes a Happy Maha Shivaratri festival to all. Shivaratri is the biggest festival for all Shiva devotees and is one of the largest for all Hindus.

Today, 11 March 2021, is Shivaratri. Shiva Lingodbhavam, Shiva Parvathi Kalyanam, Brahmotsavam in Shiva temples, Jatras (fairs), and many other rituals at temples attract millions of devotees. Jagran (vigil), upvaas (fasting), and Shiva Puja are highly meritorious activities to perform on Shivratri.

In all Jyothirlinga temples including Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, Srisailam Mallikarjuna swamy temple, Somnath Temple at Prabhas Patan and Jageshwar Nageshvara Temple in Gujarat, Ujjain Mahakaleshwar temple and Omkareshwar temple in Madhya Pradesh, Bhimashankar temple, Nasik Trayambakeshwar temple and Grishneshwar Temple near Ellora in Maharashtra, Vaidyanath temple in Jharkhand, and Rameshwaram Temple in Tamil Nadu, Mahashivaratri celebrations are held with utmost fervor and devotion.

Lingashtakam, Bilvashtakam, Rudrashtakam, and Shivashtakam are the most popular prayers to chant on Shivaratri. Pradosha Kaala puja and Nishitha Kala puja are the most observed pujas.
