Karva Chauth
Karva Chauth or Karaka Chaturthi is the important festival observed in North Indian states. In 2022, Karva Chauth date is October 13. It is a major fast for married women and those who want to get married soon. They offer prayers seeking long life of their husbands and marital bliss.

i want to know if we observe karva chauth without water but during preganancy can we drink water and have fruits.

Pregnant women come under exceptional cases. During pregnancy you can have fruits and juices and water comfortably.
Every ritual and puja in Hinduism has a great purpose. No puja is observed to kill our body cells. Fasting for few days in an year destroys bad cells of our body and gives new energy to us.
You can take juices and fruits along with water. Dedication and devotion is important not the puja procedure and rules.
How is it that you say Karwa Chauth is 25/10/10 and Diwali is 9 days after but it is said to be celebrated on the 05/11/10. This is 10 days after am I not correct???

Hi Rachana, Karwa Chauth 2015 date is October 26th as per all Standard Indian Hindu calendars. Krishna paksha Chaturthi in Kartik mahina 2015 begins at 9.30 am on 26th October and ends at the same time on 27th October. Sankashti chaturthi is observed on the day when Chaturthi remains in the afternoon and evening. Sankashti Chaturthi in Kartik month is known as Karwa Chauth. Hence, the date of Karva Chauth 2010 is October 26th.
Are you sure that karva chauth is on 26th Oct..? also do you the time of opening the fast..? i mean moon rise..?

Actually i am presently in Germany and travelling to India on karva chauth day (alone). So it will be very difficult to observe fast on that dat.Is their any way that i can keep fast a day before?
You can observe fast during the journey. And puja need to be done after reaching destination.
is it necessary to see ur hubbys face as soon as u see the moon!>?
In some places, this ritual is followed but in some other parts it is not necessary. It is advisable to follow your traditions…
