War between Kartavirya Arjuna & Ravana

Kartavirya Arjuna was an ancient king who lived in the Treta Yuga and ruled the ancient city of Mahishmati, which is the present day Madhya Pradesh. Kartavirya was the son of Kritavirya. He has got thousand hands and an ardent devotee of Lord Dattatreya. Kartavirya Arjuna ruled his city for a long period of time and he was praised by the people for giving a golden rule. He was the avatar of Sudarshana Chakra.

The details about him were found in Ramayana. Once Ravana was defeated by him, and he was imprisoned. After the great rishi Pulastya interfered, Kartavirya Arjuna released Ravana.

Once, Kartavirya Arjuna and his army went to sage Jamadagni’s ashram, and after finishing the feast offered by the great sage, he tried to take the divine cow Kamadhenu to his region.Since, Jamadagni refused to give the divine cow to him, the king killed Jamadagni.

After knowing about the incident, Parashurama killed Kartavirya Arjuna and his army forces.
Though he had done a wrong act, in general, he was a good natured person, and interested in doing fire sacrifices, charity work and contains good ruling power.
