Today, 4 June 2014 is Jamai Sashthi in Bengal. It is a festival dedicated to son-in-laws. Son-in-laws are welcomed to their mother-in-law’s house and offered special recipes, new clothes and other home appliances.
Jamai Sasthi is one of the most awaited festival among Bengalis. Lavish arrangements are made and the occasion is celebrated with great pomp. A feast is prepared in the in-laws house.
