How to reach Ujjain Mahakaleshwar Temple Jyothirlingam

Ujjain is known for Mahakaleshwar Jyothirlingam temple. It is located right in the center of India and is a part of the Malwa plateau. Having got the privilege of being called “The city of temples”, it also falls in a location of the globe where the 1st Meridian of longitude passes.

Indore is connected much closer to Ujjain and is suppose to be around 56 km away. Indore is much preferred option as it is highly connected with many cities and can get direct flights from the same. Devotees have number of flights between Indore and other cities like Indigo, jet connect, Spicejet, Air india, Jet airways, etc

One can even choose rail mode as another option to Ujjain as it has direct rail connections with major railways stations in India. Chintaman, Matana buzurg, pingleshwar, vikram nagar are few of the railway stations based in the city. Ujjain avantika Junction is the closest of the lot.

The road connectivity with other parts of the country also has improved. The two main Bus stands of the city are Nana Kheda bus stand and Dewas Gate bus stand and you have two national highways namely state Highway 18 and state highway 27 joins Ujjain and Indore. The other parts of country are connected through Agra- Mumbai National highway.

One need not worry about the local transportation within Ujjain as it has a good transport facility handled by Ujjain city transport services limited (UTCSL). Therefore, if you are planning to visit this place anytime sooner, you should decide depending on its climate and weather conditions as well.
