Guru Peyarchi will be taking place on 13 April 2022 as per some Tamil calendars and South Indian calendars. It differs as per the Panchangams like Thirukkanitha Panjangam, Suddha Vaakkiya Panjangam, Drik Siddhantha Panchangam, Purva Siddhantha Panchangam, etc.. depending on whichever is practically convenient.
Almost all Telugu calendars also predict that Guru Sankramanam into Meena Rashi will take place on 13 April 2022.
Guru Bhagavan, Jupiter, is transiting from Kumbha Rashi (Aquarius) to Meena Rashi (Pisces). Guru stays in Meena Rashi till 21 April 2023.
Most of the temples follow Suddha Vaakkiya Panjangam and consider Guru Peyarchi timings on 13 April 2022 (Guru stays in this house till 21 April 2023) depending on whichever is practically convenient. Special rituals like Guru Peyarchi Archanas and Parihara Pujas are offered in many temples.
Brihaspathi Shanti Homam, Brihaspati Japam, or Dakshinamurthy Archana are the auspicious rituals to observe on Guru Peyarchi day.
Among the 12 Rashis, seven Rashis’ natives need to perform the Pariharam and Guru Shanti Puja in order to pacify Brihaspathi.
According to Guru Parihara Sthalam, Alangudi Arulmigu Abathsagayeswara Swamy Temple (Alangudi Guru Bhagavan Koil), the several Rashi natives need to perform Guru Shanti poojas.
