Guru Purnima 2013

Guru Purnima, Veda Vyasa Purnima, Maha Ashadi, a festival dedicated to all Gurus in the world, is celebrated on Ashada Purnima, Full Moon day in Ashada Month of Hindu calendar. In 2013, Guru Purnima date is July 22, Monday.

Guru Purnima celebrates the wisdom and knowledge of Guru Parampara. Mainly Lord Dattatreya, Dakshinamurthy (Lord Shiva), Sage Veda Vyasa, Sri Adishankara Bhagavatpada and Shirdi Saibaba and many other universal teachers are worshipped on Guru Purnima day.

Gangapur Sri Dattatreya Temple, Pithapuram Sripada Srivallabha Temple, Dakshinamurthi temples all around the world, Shirdi Sansthan Trust’s Saibaba Temples, and ISKCON Temples are the best places to visit during Guru Purnima.

Veda Vyasa Temple in Basar (Andhra Pradesh) and many other Vyasa Temples in North India also celebrate Vyasa Purnima with utmost gusto.
