Gand Mool Nakshatra is a group of Nakshatras ruled by Budha (Mercury) and Ketu. The Ganda Moola Nakshatras are – Ashwani, Ashlesha, Magha, Revati, Jyestha and Moola. If a baby is born in these Nakshatras (having natal moon in these Nakshatras), then it is said that the baby is born in Gandmool Nakshatra.
March 2018 coincides with Falgun Month and Chaitra Month in Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu and Kannada Calendars. It is Chaitra Month in North Indian Hindi calendars. March 2018 corresponds with Maasi Masam – Panguni Masam in Tamil calendars, Kumbha Masam – Meena Masam in Malayalam calendar; Phalgun Month – Chaitra Month in Bengali Panjika; Phalgun – Chaitra Maas in Nepali calendar.
Many Astrologers say that the above Nakshatras are auspicious and the child born in these Nakshatras will have some Dosha. And it is also said that the child born with Gandmool nakshatra Dosha is inauspicious for mother, father, maternal uncle, etc. based on the Nakshatra the child was born.
And there is another set of astrologers who say that Moola, Jyeshta and Ashlesha are more inauspicious. According to other theory, the 1st quarter of Ashwini, Magha and Moola Nakshatra (starting 5 hours) AND the 4th quarter of Ashlesha, Jyeshta and Revati are considered as Gand Mool Nakshatras.
Gand Mool Nakshatra Dosha Nivarana Puja / Gand Nakshatra Shanti is the most preferred remedy for the child born in Gand Mool Nakshatra. Usually, it is performed on the same Nakshatra day when it comes after the birth of the child (27th day).

Ashlesha Nakshatra Nakshatra begins at 11.28 AM on 27 March and Magha Nakshatra ends at 8.39 AM on 29 March. It falls in Chaitra Month as per Hindu calendar.
