Dasami Shraddha is the tenth day of Pitru Paksha Shraddh rituals. It falls on Dashami day in Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapad month in Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu & Kannada Panchangams and in Ashwin month in Hindi calendars.
In 2025, Dashami Shraddh date is September 16.
Vishnu Puja is also observed on this day apart from Shraddh tharpan rituals to dead ancestors.
Dashami shraddh ritual helps those who are week in their concentration, mind power, knowledge & skills. Observance of this ritual makes the performer a skilled worker.
Benefits or the merits of doing Dashami Shraddha is – It is called Bala Sanjeeva Tharpanam. This helps those of our ancestors who might have died before they attained the age of five. It is also called Karunya Tharpanam, as these ancestors would never receive any tharpanam.
