Arudrashtami (Madhvashtami, Madhyashtami) is observed during Arudra nakshatra day which falls on Ashtami in Bhadrapad month (Ashwin month in North Indian calendars) and mostly in Pitru Paksha.
In 2023, Arudrashtami date is October 6.
Lord Shiva is worshipped on this day. Those who are born on Arudra nakshatra and suffering from Graha peeda should perform Shiva puja. This vrata erases and pacifies the Graha peeda or the effect of malefic planets in Navagraha.
