Choti Teej

Choti Teej is observed in Shravan Month in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and some other parts of North India and Central India. In 2012, Choti Teej date is July 22. It falls on Tritiya of bright half in Shravan Maas as per Hindi Panchangams.

Choti Teej is dedicated to worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Unmarried and married women worship the divine couple with Shodashopachar (16 steps of puja) and offer special recipes as naivedya.

Choti Teej is also popular as Hariyali Teej, Teejan, Singhara Teej and Sindhara Teej Vrat.
