Buddha Amarnath Temple in Poonch
Buddha Amarnath Yatra is one of the popular pilgrimages in Jammu & Kashmir state. In 2022, Buddha Amarnath Yatra begins in July and ends on August 12. It ends on Rakshabandhan festival day (Shravan Purnima).
Chattani Baba Buddha Amarnath Temple is situated at 290 kms North – West in Poonch district of Jammu & Kashmir. The Chattani Baba Buddha Amarnath’s ice Shivling is located 4600 feet above sea level surrounded by beautiful loren valley of gram: Rajpura in the suburbs of Mandi of Poonch district.
Buddha Amarnath Temple is an ancient Shiva temple located at the confluence of two streams – the Nallah Gagri and the Pulstaya Nallah.
The people believe that Ravan’s grandfather Pulasta Rishi performed his tapasya here and had a darshan of Lord Shiva.
