Pavitrotsavam at Appalayagunta Temple (Sri Prasanna Venkateswaraswami Temple) is the most famous festival. In 2021, Appalayagunta Pavitrotsavam is celebrated from October 1 to October 4. It is celebrated in Bhadrapada Masam as per Telugu calendar.
In view of Covid-19 restrictions, the Senadhipati Utsavam and Ankurarpanam and other rituals will be performed in Ekantham.
Accordingly, Pavitra Pratista will be on October 2, Pavitra Samarpana on October 3 and Maha Purnahuti on October 4. On all three days the utsava idols of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara and his consorts will be given holy bath, Snapana Tirumanjanam on all three days.

Sri Prasanna Venkateswaraswami Temple is located in Appalayanagunta, 14 km from Tirupati. It is believed that after Lord Sri Venkateswara married Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru, He blessed Sri Siddeswara and other sages here.
The temple, constructed by the Rajas of Karvetinagar, consists of a shrine for Anjaneyaswami. The imposing image of the wind-god is worshipped by devotees for relief from chronic diseases. There are also idols of Goddess Padmavathi and Sri Andal here. The presiding deity in this temple, unlike in the main temple, is in the Abhaya Hastha pose.
