The annual Pavitrotsavams of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy temple, Appalayagunta, will be observed with religious fervour from September 17 to 19. As a prelude to this annual fest, Ankurarpanam will be performed on the evening of September 16.
The Pavitrotsavams are conducted traditionally to ward off any lapses that might have occurred unknowingly by devotees or by the temple staff in daily rituals, thereby ensuring the sanctity of the temple.
September 17, 2025 – Pavitra Pratishtha
September 18, 2025 – Pavitra Samarpana and Pavitra Homams
September 19, 2025 – Maha Poornahuti and Pavitra Visarjana
During all these three days, in the mornings, Snapana Tirumanjanam will be performed to the processional deities of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy along with Sridevi and Bhudevi.
Appalayagunta Temple near Tirupati is one of the famous Temples under the management of TTD, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.
Sri Prasanna Venkateswaraswami Temple is located in Appalayanagunta, 14 km from Tirupati. It is believed that after Lord Sri Venkateswara married Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru, He blessed Sri Siddeswara and other sages here.
The temple, constructed by the Rajas of Karvetinagar, consists of a shrine for Anjaneyaswami. The imposing image of the wind-god is worshipped by devotees for relief from chronic diseases. There are also idols of Goddess Padmavathi and Sri Andal here. The presiding deity in this temple, unlike in the main temple, is in the Abhaya Hastha pose.

అప్పలాయగుంట శ్రీ ప్రసన్న వేంకటేశ్వరస్వామి వారి ఆలయంలో సెప్టెంబరు 17 నుండి 19వ తేదీ వరకు పవిత్రోత్సవాలు శాస్త్రోక్తంగా నిర్వహించనున్నారు. ఇందుకోసం సెప్టెంబరు 16న సాయంత్రం అంకురార్పణ జరుగనుంది.
యాత్రికుల వల్ల, సిబ్బంది వల్ల తెలియక జరిగే దోషాలవల్ల ఆలయ పవిత్రతకు ఎలాంటి లోపం రానీయకుండా నివారించేందుకు పవిత్రోత్సవాలు నిర్వహించడం ఆనవాయితీ.
పవిత్రోత్సవాల్లో మొదటి రోజైన సెప్టెంబరు 17న పవిత్ర ప్రతిష్ఠ, సెప్టెంబరు 18న పవిత్ర సమర్పణ, పవిత్ర హోమాలు చేపడతారు. చివరిరోజు సెప్టెంబరు 19న మహాపూర్ణాహుతి, పవిత్ర విసర్జన జరుగనుంది. పవిత్రోత్సవాల సందర్భంగా ప్రతి రోజు ఉదయం శ్రీదేవి, భూదేవి సమేత శ్రీ ప్రసన్న వేంకటేశ్వరస్వామివారి ఉత్సవర్లకు స్నపన తిరుమంజనం నిర్వహిస్తారు.
