In Hinduism, we are having abundant ancient divine monuments in our temples, out of which, some of the rare monuments like jewels and precious items of the deities are lost during the invasion of Mughal rulers. Whereas the remaining objects are safely preserved in the respective temples, and also some things are carefully preserved by the Department of Archaeology, India.

Ancient Ravi Varma’s paintings and the sculptures adds beauty to our temples. The ancient Konark Sun Temple which was very good in art and architecture has lost its beauty due to attacks by the enemy kings before few hundred years.

It is also believed that one of the teeth of Lord Buddha is still preserved by the Sri Lankan government, due to its sanctity. In Tirumala Temple, the temple management still preserves some items, such as hand grinder and some utensils which were used at the time of marriage ceremony of Lord Venkateshwara, a form of Lord Vishnu, and Ma Padmavathi, a form of Ma Lakshmi Devi. Similarly in Bikshalaya village, situated nearby Mantralayam Raghavendra Mutt, the hand grinder belonging to Appanacharya, the disciple of Guru Raghavendra is found in the ancient house of Sri Appanacharya.

According to a research, some parts of the famous Dwaraka city which was submerged in the ocean were visible to our eyes. In the Prahladapuri Temple, which was built by the great Bhakta Prahlada, some ancient valuable articles were found before few hundred years. But due to the attacks by some miscreants, the valuable articles were stolen by them.If still modern researchers conduct surveys by digging at the appropriate places, lot of ancient articles can be traced. But it is not in our hands. If god helps us to discover ancient things for getting it preserved, we can find more and more ‘ANCIENT OBJECTS’ in this world.
