New Accommodation Booking Mechanism in Tirumala Tirupati from 12 July 2017 onwards.. To give more enhanced and transparent services to the pilgrims in booking accommodation at Tirumala,TTD is coming up with token system for allotment of cottages from July 12 onwards, said TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal.

Speaking to media persons after Dial Your EO programme at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala, the EO said, ten counters were created for this purpose in CRO at Tirumala.

Elaborating on this new system, the EO said, of the available 6600 rooms, 2000 were allotted in online while in the remaining 4600, 2800 rooms will be allotted on token system. This registration will be opened in two slots at 6am and 2pm with 1400 rooms in each slot.

The rooms will be categorised into two, with tariffs ranging between Rs.50 to Rs.250 and those between Rs.500 to Rs.1000. The pilgrims will have to register with their Phone number and Aadhaar Card. The pilgrim will receive SMS if the allotment is confirmed and the pilgrim will be allotted room without waiting in queue lines for hours together.

As soon as the pilgrim gets the message he will have to the room within half an hour paying the requisite amount otherwise, the accommodation will go to next person in the series”, the EO added.

NO GST ON LADDU BUT ON ROOM SERVICES-EO

TTD has come under GST with no effect on laddu prasadam but some services like sale of gold dollars, accommodation and kalyana mandapams will be covered, said TTD EO Sri AK Singhal.

Elaborating on this the EO said, on sale of gold dollars there will be 3% of GST, with room tariffs ranging between Rs.1000 to Rs.2500 will have 12%, those ranging above Rs.2500 the GST is 18%. For TTD Kalyana Mandapams with rentals over Rs.10thousands, GST will imply”, the EO added.

“Additional outflow that TTD will incur on procurement of goods will be around Rs.32crores and on pilgrim services front will be around Rs.19crores. But since around 86% of accommodation will be below Rs.1000, there will be no burden on common pilgrims”, he maintained.

The EO said in the month of June 25,77,165 pilgrims had darshan of Lord which 1.08lakhs more than previous year with 4.4% increase while 1.07cr laddus were sold this year as against 94lakhs during last June. The hundi collections stood at Rs.86.56cr this year as against 90crores during last June.
