6th day Alankaram in Vijayawada Dasara Navaratri 2021 – 12 October

Sri Saraswati Devi is the 6th day Alankaram in Vijayawada Dasara Navaratri 2021, 12 October. During Dasara Sharan Navaratri of Kanakadurga Temple, each day one of the forms of Goddess Durga is worshipped.

Kanakadurga Mata is decorated in the form of Sri Saraswati Devi and worshipped. This Saptami Navratri falls on Ashwayuja Shukla Paksha Saptami tithi.

Saraswati is the Hindu Goddess of learning and knowledge. She is the wife of Goddess Brahma and one of the Trimatas (three Supreme Goddesses – Parvati, Lakshmi and Saraswati).

All places of India celebrate Saraswati puja on Mahasaptami day and the three days from Saptami are dedicated to Saraswati devi. This vrata is also called as Saraswati Triratri vrata (observance of three dedicated days).

The Alankarams of Navratri puja differs from year to year depending on the Nakshatras and Temple’s Agama Shasthra.
