Santan Saptami vrat is an auspicious puja dedicated to Kuldevi or devta. It is observed on Shukla Paksha Saptami in Bhadrapad Month (September). In 2012, Santan Saptami vrat date is September 22.
It is an important vrat for those who are not blesses with children and want to get children. It is also performed by the women who have children. They worship their kuldevi for good health and prosperity of their children.
Devotees offer special pujas, offerings, prayers on Santhana Saptami to their Kuldevis. And married women seek special blessings from their mother-in-laws.
Santan Saptami is also observed as Aparajita Saptami, Lalitha Saptami and Muktabharan Saptami Vrat.
