Shravana Masam (Shravan month, Sawan mahina), is very auspicious Hindu month. Each and everyday during the Shravana Mas has some significance. In 2013, Shravan Month begins on July 23 and ends on August 21 as per North Indian Hindi calendars.

Krishna Paksha of Shravan Maas begins on July 23 and ends on August 6

Shukla Paksha of Shravan Month begins on August 7 and ends on August 21.

As per Telugu, Kannada, Marathi & Gujarati calendars, Shravan Maas 2013 begins on August 7 and ends on September 5.

Especially, Shravan Somvar (Mondays in Shravan month) are most auspicious which are solely dedicated to Lord Shiva. On Shravan Shukravar (Fridays in Shravana masa), women worship Goddess Mahalakshmi. Shravan month is the first month of auspicious Chaturmasa Puja.

In 2012, Shravan month was from July 4 to August 2 in North Indian calendar whereas it was from July 20 to August 17 in Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu & Kannada calendars.

In 2011, Shravan month was from 16th July to 13th August in North Indian Hindi calendars. In Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada and Telugu Panchangam, Shravan mahina in 2011 was between 31st July and 29th August.

  1. Really i love indian festival even sawan month when slowly slowly raining and some swings are handing stem on the trees. wow i used to this type activities in my child hood.

During this month children perform Pada pooja to their Parents.During morning and evening they chant astothara and sahasranama. Those who practice Meditation they do medfitation on the SUN and the MOON.They also meditate on Chakras
