Vakratund Mela is an exhibition of Eco friendly Ganesh idols held in Mumbai by Nirmitee. For Ganesh Chaturthi 2011 Vakratund Mela will be continued till September 4th. 1001 eco-friendly Ganesh idols and Ashtavinayak Ganesh idols will be displayed as part of this exhibition. By carving eco-friendly Ganesh idols Nirmitee aims at keeping alive the spirit of Lord Ganesh and to create awareness amongst the art loves and devotees.

Nirmitee also celebrates the Deep Utsav 2011, the festival of lights where the vibrant and colorful divas, lanterns and many gift articles are displayed. This festival starts about a fortnight before Diwali 2011.

The handicrafts and artifacts of an entire sub-continent come alive in myriad forms at Nirmitee. Nestled in the heart of Mumbai since 1997, visitors cannot help but marvel at this eclectic repository of India’s arts and crafts from every region. The local Warli paintings of Maharashtra to the styles of Madhubani from Bihar, Phad and Kathputli from Rajasthan, Pattachitra and Dhokra from Orissa, Thanjavar from Tamil Nadu, wrought iron and brass from Madhya Pradesh and much more from other length and breadth of the country.
