The first Solar Eclipse or Surya Grahan of this decade will take place on January 15, 2010, and it will be a Annular Solar Eclipse or Kankana Surya Grahanam. The Grahan will be visible in some African countries, some parts of Arab countries, Maldives, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, China and some other Asian countries. This solar eclipse will not be visible in United States of America (USA), Canada, Mexico and any part of North America and South American countries. Hindu people living in these countries need not to be worried about the Grahan rituals. As per EST or American Time, the Grahan takes place in the early morning.
It is not mandatory to follow the Grahan rituals but, if you want to follow the mentioned rituals on Janaury 15, 2010, you can calculate the time corresponding to any Grahan occurring country and observe the rituals. There will be no effect of this Solar Eclipse on USA and any other neighboring country.
