Taittiriya Shravani 2026

Taittiriya Shravani is observed in Shravan month by some Krishna Yajurveda Brahmin communities in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat and South India. In 2026, Taittiriya Shravani date is August 28.

The Taittiriya Brahmins is a notable shakha of the Krishna Yajurveda. The Vishnu Purana attributes it to a pupil of Yaska named Tittiri. It is most prevalent in south India.

Taittiriya Shravani is mostly observed on Shravan Purnima, the Full Moon day in Shravan Month.

In South Indian Brahmin communities, generally Upakarma is performed during Shravan Purnima. There are some differences in dates and the procedures to perform. Samaveda Upakarma varies basically from Rig Veda and Yajurveda Upakarma dates.
