Sundararaja Swamy Avatarotsavams have begun in Tiruchanoor on 6 July 2015, Monday.
This is an age old festival in practice since the period of Mahants which is usually observed with the advent of the star Sathabhisham and concluding on the star Uttarabhadra.
The temple of Sunderaraja Swamy is the oldest and first shrine located in the premises of Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru temple at Tiruchanoor. Signifying the emergence of Sri Sunderarja Swamy this festival is observed in a grand manner.
As a part of it, Sahasranamarchana followed by Kalyanotsavam to Goddess Padmavathi devi between 10:30am to 12 noon has were performed. Later special abhishekam to Lord Sri Sunderaraja Swamy from 2pm to 3:30pm in Mukha Mandapam was performed followed by Unjal seva to the deity in the evening between 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
Meanwhile there will be procession of Peddasesha Vahanam took place between 7:15pm to 8:30pm where in the celestial serpent vehicle carried the processional deity of Lord Sri Sunderaraja Swamy along the four-mada streets.
