Sri Sai Satcharitra is a famous devotional book which tells about the real life incidents happened in the life of Sri Sai Baba of Shirdi. This wonderful book was written by Sri. Hemadpant, and it was published during the year 1930. It was translated into English language and published in the year 1944, by Shri. Nagash Devastate.
This holy book was translated into various other regional languages, and it received lot of patronage and applause from the Sai Devotees.
During the year 1910, when the staunch Sai devotee Hemadpant came to Shirdi, he witnessed lot of miracles performed by Sai Baba in order to save the Shirdi people from diseases, natural disasters and poverty.
Based on his mercy shown to the Shirdi people, and to all of his devotees, Hemadpant decided to write about the significance of Sai Baba of Shirdi. Hemadpant with the help of Shama had got the darshan of Sri Sai Baba, and after getting the permission of Sai Baba, Hemandpant began to write about the wonderful life history and about the grace showered by Baba towards his devotees.
Sai Baba himself stated, that those who read his life history, and the miracles performed by him,the sins committed by them in their past births would be removed, and they would attain spiritual enlightenment.
Hemadpant wrote the Sai Satcharita at his home in Mumbai, and still now lot of Sai devotees are visiting his home from all over the world. The Sai Satcharitra consists of several chapters and it contains most of the real incidents happened in the life of Saibaba.
Hemadpant started writing the Sri Sai Satcharita in the year 1922, and before completing the final chapter, he has died in the year 1929. Then the final chapter was completed by Balasaheb Dev. The things which Hemadpant used while writing the Sai Satcharita book, is still preserved and kept at his home at Mumbai for public view. Sai Satcharitra gives immense happiness and it would bury the worries of the readers. Lot of famous personalities have appreciated this book, and still now several millions of readers are benefitted, and they are thankful to the author of Sai Satcharitra book, Sri Hemandpant, for writing such a marvellous devotional book.
