Special trains for Adi Krithigai 2010

To clear the extra rush of passengers, Southern Railway will run special trains for Adi Krithigai in August 2010. The trains will run on the Arakkonam – Tiruttani – Renigunta section from August 3 to August 5 for Tiruttani Adi Krithigai festival.

The Hindu reports:

Southern Railway will also run special trains on the Arakkonam – Tiruttani – Renigunta section from August 3 to 5 for the ‘Adi Krithigai’ at Tiruttani. A passenger special will leave Arakkonam at 11.30 a.m. and arrive at Renigunta at 1.20 p.m. In the return direction, it will leave Renigunta at 2 p.m. and arrive at Arakkonam at 4.05 p.m.

Aadi Krithigai special trains will stop at Tiruttani, Ponpadi, Venkatanarasimharajuvaripetta, Nagari, Ekambarakuppam, Vepagunta, Puttur, Taduku and Pudi. Renigunta – Arakkonam special trains will stop at Sri Venkata Perumal Rajupuram also.

EMU specials will be operated between Arakkonam and Tiruttani at 10.30 a.m., 1.10 p.m. and 2.45 p.m. In the return direction, they will be run at 11 a.m., 1.35 p.m. and 3.15 p.m.

Owing to line block for engineering work between Tada and Sullurupetta stations on the Chennai Central – Gudur section from 1 a.m. to 6.00 a.m. on August 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 & 11, train number GS-1 leaving Gummidipoondi at 4.40 a.m. and train number SPM – 2 leaving Sullurpetta at 5.40 a.m. will be partially cancelled between Tada and Sullurupetta during the period.
