Selvi Sooryagayathri was born on 26th January 2006, is an Indian Classical Vocalist who has gained worldwide recognition at an early age. Known for singing devotional songs – Bhajan and Kirtan, this marvellous child has become a talk of the town within a short span of time. From her young age onwards, she has been doing divine music concerts. She has got talents in singing divine songs with her sweet melodious voice, and even a layman can easily understand her music performances.
Listening to her wonderful music is similar to drinking the hot Kumbakonam Degree Coffee in the early morning, and we can also compare her excellent spiritual concerts similar to tasting the Holy Prasad items, Tirupati Laddu, and Palani Panchamirtham, and moreover by her mesmerizing innocent smile, she steals our hearts!
Females are wonderful creations of the almighty, and all the females present in the world, are to be considered as the holy incarnations of Ma Shakti Devi. Female is the one who delivers a child after much painstaking effort, and her love and affection shown on her child, cannot be expressed in words. All the females must be properly treated and must be respected by men, and they must be considered similar to men in all aspects. And among them, Selvi Sri Surya Gayatri has done a remarkable performance in the Music field. According to the famous Tamil poet, Sri Kavimani Desikavinayakam Pillai, “One has to do lot of good karmas in order to take birth as a female”.
Soorya’s relatives has also tasted the success in music field, since her father Sri. PV Anilkumar serves as a popular mridangam artist in Kozhikode for several years. Sooryagayathri hails from a small village Kozhikode district of Kerala. And for her, her father, Sri Anilkumar himself was her first Guru, and only from him, her musical journey was started.
Apart from his father, Sooryagayathri has also learnt music from few more music teachers. She was well-appreciated by Mr. Kuldeep Pai, who is a Carnatic singer based in Chennai, and he put her under him for performing some music concerts. Kuldip has also uploaded in his YouTube channel, some of her wonderful performances. She was inspired by the famous legendary singer Ma MS Subbulakshmi. Still most of the Hindus are watching her divine music performances in the Youtube Channel including me, since we used to consider her similar to our great mother ‘MA BALA TRIPURA SUNDARI’.
Sooryagayathri’s Youtube recording includes shlokas like Aeigiri Nandini, Kalabhairavashtakam, Nirvanashtakam, Vishnu Sahasranama, Harivarasanam, Carnatic compositions like Rangapura Vihara, Muthai Tharu, Vatapi Ganpathim, Sriman Narayan & bhajans like Shri Ramachandra Kripalu, Bhagyada Lakshami Baramma, Swagatam Krishna, Gopigopalam amongst many other compositions. Apart from her classical vocal training, Sooryagayathri is also learning Veena from Ramana Balachandran after learning basics from Krishnendu G. She also keeps practicing mridangam with her father at her home.
Apart from Youtube videos and online presence, Sooryagayathri has given many national and international live performances, and for her immense talent and grace at such a young age, Sooryagayathri has been honoured with the several awards and recognitions.
