Shyamala Navaratri (9 divine days dedicated to Goddess Shyamala) is observed in Magha Masam of Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati and Hindi Calendars. In 2026, Shyamala Navaratri begins on 19 January and ends on 27 January.

Shyamala Navaratri, also popular as Magha Navaratri, starts on Shukla Paksha Pratipada and ends on Shukla Paksha Navami in Magha Maasa. As the Devi Navaratri in Ashwayuja Masa is dedicated to Nine forms of Shakti, Shyamala Navaratri is also dedicated to Nine forms of Shyamala Devi.

Shyamala Devi is believed to have originated from the sugarcane bow of goddess Sri Lalitha Tripura Sundari. She is a form of Durga Devi who helps Lord Krishna interact with the material world during his incarnation.
