SCR to run Sabarimala Special Train from Visakhapatnam to Kollam

South Central Railway (SCR) will run Sabarimala special train from Visakhapatnam (Vizag) to Kollam from December 15, 2011 to January 15, 2012. To clear the extra rush of passengers who travel for Makaravilakku and Makara jyothi festival in 2011-2012 season, SCR officials had taken this decision.

Train No. 08569 / 08570 Visakhapatnam-Kollam bi-weekly Special Train (Via Kottayam) :- Train No. 08569 Visakhapatnam-Kollam bi-weekly Special Train will depart Visakhapatnam at 09 00 hrson Thursdays and Sundays ie. o­n 15th, 18th, 22nd, 25th, 29th December, 2011 and 1st, 5th, 8th, 12th, 15th January, 2012 and arrive Kollamat 15 30 hrs o­n the next day.

In the return direction, Train No. 08570 Kollam-Visakhapatnam bi-weekly Special Train will depart Kollam at 19 20 hrs o­n Fridays and Mondays ie., o­n 16th , 19th , 23rd. 26th , 30th December, 2011 and 2nd , 6th, 9th, 13th, 16th January, 2012 and arrive Visakhapatnam at 01 25 o­n the second day.

These trains will stop at Duvvada, Anakapalli, Tuni, Annavaram, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Tadepalligudem, Eluru, Vijayawada, Tenali, Chirala, o­ngole, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta,Tirupati, Katpadi,Jolarpattai, Salem, Erode, Coimbator, Palakkad, Thrisur, Ernakulam Town and Kottayam. These trains will have combinations such as o­ne AC II Tier, o­ne AC III Tier, eight Sleeper class, four General Second classand two Luggage cum break van coaches.
