Sarvartha Saptami

Sarvartha Saptami is an auspicious vrata dedicated to Sun God (Surya Deva). It is observed on the seventh lunar day of Margasheersha Month (Margashirsha Maas Krishna Paksha).

In 2013, Sarvartha Saptami date is 24th December as per Telugu, Kannada, Marathi and Gujarati calendars. And as per North Indian Hindi calendars,  Sarvartha Saptami date is 25th November.

On Sarvartha Saptami day, the devotee forsakes the consumption of salt and oil. Surya Puja is observed with Shodashopachara Puja and offered daana to the Brahmins. The major benefit of observing Sarvartha Saptami is to get Moksha (salvation).
