Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple will be opened on March 14 for Meenam Month Puja and the 10-day annual festival. Ayyappa Temple of Sabarimala will remain open for 14 days.
At 5.30 PM, the temple will be opened on March 14. Special pujas and rituals will be performed during the 14-days of festive time.
‘Sahasrakalasam’ and ‘kalabhabhishekam’ will be held on monthly pooja days from March 15 to 17. ‘Udayasthamanapooja’, ‘Pushpabhishekam’ and ‘Padi pooja’ will also be conducted on these days.
The annual 10-day festival of the temple will begin with the ‘kodiyettu’ on March 18. Hoisting of the temple flag will be performed at 10 am. ‘Utsavabali’, one of the most important rituals of the festival, will be held from the second day of the festival to the ninth day.
‘Vilakkinezhunnellippu’ will be held from March 21 to March 26 while ‘Pallivetta’ will be held at Saramkuthi at 10 pm on March 26. The annual festival will conclude after the ‘arattu’ ceremony at the Arattukadavu in Pampa river in front of the Pampa Lord Ganapathi temple on March 27.
The ‘arattu’ return procession will leave Pampa at 3.30 pm and will reach Sannidhanam at 6 pm. The festival will conclude with ‘kodiyirakku’, ‘valiyakanikka’ and ‘harivarasanam’ at 10 pm on March 27.
