Ramba Gauri Vritham is a famous Vrata (fasting) which was once observed by Ramba, and as a result she has become a celestial dancer in the Indra Loka. As per ancient legend, once a famous princess named Ramba was lived along with her parents in the present day Uttar Pradesh. She looked very charm and contains good nature. After she has attained teenage, her parents decided to arrange marriage for her to a nice person.
On hearing about her parent’s decision, she rejected the proposal, and began to perform penance on Ma Gauri, a form of Ma Shakti Devi, and also observed Vrata in order to please the Holy Mother. In course of time, her prayers were answered, and due to the grace of Ma Gauri Devi, she was allowed to go to the heaven with her physical body, and thereafter the princess has become a celestial dancer in the Indra Loka, and she began to be popularly known as “RAMBA DEVI”. Since Ramba has observed the famous Gauri Vrata, the Vrata also came to be known as “MA RAMBA GAURI VRATHAM”.
This Vrata is mostly observed by the females, and those who observe this Vrata, would get the grace of the celestial dancer Ma Ramba as well as they would get the grace of Ma Shakti Devi also.
This year,the date 2 June 2022 was supposed to be the Ramba Gauri Vrata. This Vrata is mainly observed in order to get beautiful appearance and to get a suitable life partner.After knowing about the significance of this Vrata from Ramba, it is believed that even Ma Indrani still observes this Vrata once in a year, in order to get more beauty and to get the grace of Ma Shakti Devi. This Vritha also helps her loving consort Lord Indra Bhagavan to win in the battles!
This Ramba Gauri Vrata is considered to be an ancient Vrata, and even Rishis Pathnis like Ma Arunthati and Ma Anusuya were once observed it! As per Mahabharata, due to the advice given by Rishi Narad, Ma Draupati has also observed this famous Vrata for a few years, for the welfare of the Pandavas.
