Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi, the holy symbol of sacred bond between sister and brother, will be celebrated on August 11 in 2022. Hindupad wishes all the readers and Hindus a Happy Rakshabandhan and Happy Rakhi Festival 2022.

Sister tie Rakhi to their brother hand while chanting a Rakshabandhan Mantra. It is believed that Rakhi protects the brother from all types of problems in his life.

Hayagriva Jayanti is also observed on Rakhi Purnima. Lord Hayagriva was first appeared on this day.

Rakhi Purnima is celebrated as Narali Purnima in Maharashtra and Goa.

It is celebrated as Kajli Purnima. Jandhyala Purnima is the name for this festival in Brahmin community of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Yajurveda Avani Avittam or Yajur Upakarma is observed on this day in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka.
