Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra 2017 schedule or calendar or timings of various sevas to Lord Jagannath is given here in this article. After Snan Purnima Snan Yatra Lord Jagannath falls ill and served by Daithapathis in Onosono Mandir.

The Lord will be away from his devotees till Amavasya (June 23, 2017) and comes up with Navayavvana rupa on Netrotsava (June 24, 2017). Netrotsava marks the beginning of celebrations of Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra.

Rath yatra 2017 date is June 25. The three deities will leave to Gundicha temple on three rathas known as Nandi ghosh ratha, Thaaladhwaja ratha, and Darpadalan ratha. The deities stay at Gundicha temple for 9 days. Hera Panchami (July 28, 2017 – Ashada Shukla Panchami) marks the jubilant celebrations in Gundicha temple.

Lord Jagannath will return to Sri Kshetra on 10th day of chariot festival. This return journey of Rath yatra is referred to as Bahuda yatra (July 3, 2017). Sunavesha festival is celebrated on Dwadasi day (July 5, 2017). This day is also known as Jagannath Maha Ekadashi. Devotees observe fast to please Lord Jagannath on this Ekadasi day.

On Ashada Shukla Chaturdasi (July 7, 2017), Pohandi festival is held to three deities – Jagannath, Balbhadra, and Subhadra. This marks the end of Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri.

Pohandi utsav – 9.30 am

Pohandi ends – 12’0 clock

King of Puri Divyadev singh arrives in Palki or Palanquin – 1 to 1.30 pm

Cherapahara and Mangal Aarti – 1.45 to 2.30 pm

Tying of horses to Rath or chariots – 3 to 3.15 pm

Rath Yatra starts and leaves to Gundicha Temple – 3.30 pm

On the occasion of Rath Yatra Orissa Tourism department has started information centers and enquiry spots at Puri Singadwar (Puri entrance), Railway station of Puri, Mahodadhi, Gundicha temple, Town Thana, Bodo Shonkho, Hospital junction, Jadeswari mandir, West entrance, and Balagandi junction. Devotees can get informational brochures, books, and other details will also be available at the above centers.
