‘Srirama Punarvasu Deeksha’, a popular vow, observed at famous Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami. It begins on Punarvasu Nakshatra / Sriramanavami Kalyanotsavam in Chaitra Masam and ends on Punarvasu Nakshatram in Vaishakha Masam as per Telugu Panchangam.
In 2020, Srirama Punarvasu Deeksha begins on 2 April 2019 and ends on 29 April 2020.
The religious event also marks the celestial marriage divine couple Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy as a part of ‘Vasantha Paksha Prayukta Navahnika Sriramanavami Tiru Kalyana Brahmotsavam’ in the temple town. The Brahmotsavam would conclude on April 8.
This festival of one of the celebrated Sri Ramachandraswamy Temples in India feature Sitarama Kalyanamahotsavam on April 2 and Maha Pattabhishekotsavam on April 3, besides a host of special rituals and devotional programmes.
‘Srirama Punarvasu Deeksha’ also gets off to a devotional start under the aegis of the temple priests on the auspicious occasion.
Sri Rama Punarvasu Deeksha Dharana begins at 6 PM onwards at Bhadruni Mandapam in the temple. And Deeksha Viramana is on 29 April 2020, Vaishakha Maasa Punarvasu Nakshatram.
