Similar to Lord Krishna’s Holy Bhagavat Gita, Bhakt Prahalad’s, Prahalada Gita is also considered to be an important one. Prahalada teaches the Gita to his friends who were also studying at the Gurukulam of the great Demon Guru Sri Sukracharya. Prahalada is considered to be an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu, and he is praised for his great bhakti similar to Deva Rishi Narada, Dhuruva and other Bhagavathas. He was born in the Krita Yuga, also known as Satya Yuga to the demon king, Hiranya Kasipu, and later his father was killed by Lord Narasimha, and he was crowned by Lord Brahma himself and became a king of the entire world.

He ruled his kingdom in a proper manner, and done lot of welfare activities for the people, and provided Lord Vishnu’s holy Prasad to his people on a daily basis, and developed the “VISHNU BHAKTI SPIRIT” among the masses. By reading his history and teachings, would definitely cleanse our minds, and remove our miseries and sorrows in our life. He can be compared as a “GEM” among the devotees of Lord Vishnu.

Prahlada advises his friends to avoid the company of bad people, and to surrender under the lotus feet of Lord Narayana, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, because the ultimate goal for devotees is to free themselves from worldly bondages.

PRAHALADA GITA

1.Trust in Lord Vishnu, worship him from the depth of your heart, since he is the god who would immediately attend your calls and give his helping hands forever in our life.

2.Lord Vishnu creates various types of living beings in the world. Among those, we (human beings) are only would be able to realize him fully, recite his names and Mantras, and can sing his glories. Hence it is better to utilize our time on worshipping and doing service to Lord Vishnu, let us keep on thinking only about Lord Vishnu.

3.Lord Vishnu is the one who creates, protects and destroys the entire universe. Without his help, nothing is possible. He would make even the impossible things into possible.

4.There is no need to get afraid of Lord Vishnu, you can treat him as your own child, friend, mother and father, and tell your problems, and at the appropriate time, he will shower his grace on you, and your problems would come to an end. Try to understand that he is not the problem creator, but he is the solution for all of our problems.

5.Don’t think that we are doing our work only through our own strength and energy it is all that was given by the divine god Vishnu. Through him only we are able to sustain in our life, and able to do things properly in this world, we must consider ourselves that we are all the servants of Lord Vishnu Bhagavan.

6.If Even a tiny insect is created and protected by Lord Vishnu believe that he would definitely protect us!

7.In order to maintain peace and prosperity in this world, Lord Vishnu is taking various avatars, and he also protects his devotees from dangers and difficulties.

8.Chant the mantra “OM NAMO NARAYANAYA NAMAHA”, and “OM NAMO BHAGAVATE VASUDEVAYA NAMAHA”, on a daily basis, in order to get the abundant grace of Lord Vishnu.

9.Each and every second, realize Lord Vishnu and always keep thinking about him, then you would be given SALVATION after your death, since Lord Vishnu is the ultimate Brahman for the entire universe.

Some of the experts from the holy text, Prahalada Gita are as follows:

Prahlad tells to his dear most grandson Mahabali that, ‘God (Lord Vishnu) is the very embodiment of bliss—pure, unalloyed joy that transcends worldly pleasures. He emphasized that: “God is present everywhere and is the soul of all beings. There are no restrictions of place, time, or rules in His devotion; therefore, no effort is needed.”

The core of Prahlada’s Gita is that the ultimate goal of the rare human life is to develop unwavering, selfless devotion (bhakti) to the Supreme Lord (Vishnu/Krishna), who is everyone’s dearest friend and well-wisher. This spiritual pursuit, which should begin from childhood, leads to true happiness and liberation from material entanglement.

Key Principles of Prahalada Gita

Life’s Purpose is Devotion: The human form of life is a rare and valuable opportunity that should be used for spiritual self-realization (bhakti-yoga), rather than wasted on temporary sense gratification and material pursuits.

God is Everywhere and Our Dearest Friend: The Supreme Lord is the all-pervading Super soul present in all living entities and even inanimate objects. He is the supreme well-wisher and the dear most person to all, though we have forgotten this relationship.

Material Happiness and Distress are Automatic: One should not struggle excessively for material happiness or fear distress, as both come automatically according to one’s past actions (karma) and are temporary by nature. The focus should instead be on cultivating spiritual life.

Start Now, Don’t Wait: Spiritual practice should begin from a young age, as there is no guarantee of living a long life. Postponing spiritual life until old age is risky, as the body and mind may be too weak to focus effectively.

The Nine Processes of Bhakti: Prahlada outlined nine processes of pure devotional service as the highest form of learning and practice:

  • Hearing about the Lord (shravanam)
  • Chanting His glories (kirtanam)
  • Remembering Him (smaranam)
  • Serving His feet (pada-sevanam)
  • Worshiping Him (archanam)
  • Offering prayers (vandanam)
  • Becoming His servant (dasyam)
  • Considering Him one’s best friend (sakhyam)
  • Surrendering everything to Him (atma-nivedanam)

Fearlessness and Divine Protection: A sincere devotee who has complete faith in God’s protection becomes fearless in the face of any danger or adversity, as the Lord is their ultimate protector.

Compassion for All: A devotee sees all living beings as parts of the Supreme Lord and acts as their well-wisher, free from enmity or duality.

In essence, Prahlada’s message is to abandon the limited, selfish pursuits of the material world and direct all of one’s actions, mind, and words toward selfless, uninterrupted devotion to God, with full faith in His guidance and protection.
